We had an Eid Story Time with Yahya’s class today.
It was an immense joy to share about Ramadan and Eid rituals with our little friends and teachers.
I was amazed to see the glow and excitement on the kids’ faces, especially those who celebrate Eid were super excited to share their insights.
As the story unfolded some kids came up showing their bangles and Eid topies while others were talking about their Mehndi, Ghararahs and their favourite Eid breakfast. Even a little girl sang a Ramadan song for us.
Those who don’t celebrate were curious to know about Iftar and if Eid and Ramadan are the same things or different. The teachers were super cooperative and helped me to play our Iftar reels as well.
A big shout out to Injila Wajih
Who wrote this book “Aao Eid Manaain” (Let’s celebrate Eid) and covers all beautiful things related to Eid from decoration to Spiritual aspect of the occasion to the Sheer Khurma , Bangles, Henna, Ghararah, Eidi, Gatherings and other festivities.
