The atmosphere reminded me of this ghazal of Parveen Shakir .
During the anxiety of covid, keeping kids home cause of seasonal flu and the chaos of Moving. I stole a little time for myself to recharge and dive back into everything again, believe me, it worked & I felt so good.
I believe this Covid situation effected on Moms the most, whether it’s about “Stay at home Moms” or “Working Moms”, when everyone shifted to work or study from home. The pressure on the Queen of the house had just got doubled.
That “Me” time whether it was in a form of driving alone peacefully to work or Enjoying tea in a quiet house at morning has been taken away. Working or not working, that continuous home chores, kitchen activities and trying to maintain the quietness at home so the person on the other side during the official meeting won’t hear those screams, crying or complaining noises is a real Challenge & All that is so exhausting.
So dear Moms, To maintain your sanity, Please take out some time for yourself. whether if it is in a form of a walk, watching something peacefully, reading a book, driving alone, Zooming with family or meeting with a friend following the protocols. Get up ,change your cloths ,wear some makeup and Just do it because only a Happy Mother could create happy vibes at home & you can’t pour from an empty cup.
