DHOLKI 💛💚DECOR

The first thing comes in a mind by the name “Dholki” is colours and fancy decorations. I got many questions about the floor decor I had, Luckily I didn’t spend anything on that and it was all whatever I had at home. I think you just have to be little creative while doing any similar setup rather than spending $$$.
The first layer on the floor is carpet, One is the regular one that we have in our living room but as we moved our dining table to accommodate all guests at one place we needed to have another carpet which we borrowed.(yes borrowed from one of our relative as renting from decor people cost equals as buying one about 60$ to 80$, Pakistanioon! apney decoration waloon ki qadr karo). The second layer is our quilt set. In 2009 we used to live in our condo and we co-slept we our kids so we had one queen and one single bed in our Bedroom,When I visited Lahore I brought this bright colour set for both beds from a local market and from that time whenever event like this happen , this set bright up the place like nothing else. The third layer is a my green embroidered mirror work bedspread, I bought it in 2003 from Guelph market Karachi while doing my wedding shopping(ahh those were the days.. 💞) and from that time it became my favourite and I am still having it like a keepsake. Fancy small square cushions are also a memory of one of our Pakistan trip long ago, I bought from a cultural exhibition in Park Tower Karachi. Round cushions I got from Costco many years back and other cushions are regular one with covers gifted by some loved one. Basiclly most of the things are from Pakistan either gifts or memories.
Talking about the roof, I bought these lanterns and hangings from Party city two years back when I had another dholki event at home. From that time we are using these wherever we can and pack them back, I am so happy they are still in shape and able to add the joy to more parties. So basically it is a one-time investment plus lots of love and care. With the latest Dholki photos, I am also adding photos from last Dholki set up at our place two years back. Enjoy, get ideas and share your love in the form of comments.💕🎉🎊
