We all need some “Me” Time

So after dropping off Yahya on his first day of preschool, I was standing outside and feeling so excited about the two hours of “Me” time I got,Maybe many of you are thinking “is main kia Bari Baat Hai?”(what’s the big deal) but only those who can relate can better understand this and especially those who are living abroad and their kids don’t have A Dadi or Nani’s house. In that case,Solely Parents have to deal with all kinds of situations no matter if you’re sick, Busy,Feeling down or really need help.Sometimes with a little one going to a bathroom peacefully is a real challenge. In that condition thinking about few hours just for yourself is like a dream.I was very much excited as this time came after 3 years.First I thought to go back and clean up the house (which of course doesn’t sound like a ME Time 🤦),Then I thought to go back and have a nap(it’s something real but sounds boring ),Then I decided to give a treat to myself and went to the nearby Library to spent those hours in reading and writing.Even upon entering the community centre I saw a local swimming schedule and grabbed it,thinking I can do swimming as well in the coming days in these two hours lol.I was literary acting like my kids when they get their Eidi money and they are planning to buy the world with that limited amount .I was doing the same with my Time 🙈 .
Meadowvale community centre and the library is the nearest one and I found it absolutely fantastic after recent renovation.Luckily behind that there is a scenic lake and hiking area.So I took a little nature walk, smelled some fresh fall air, Spotted colour-changing leaves,Took some photos then came inside the library, borrowed few books and came to this beautiful patio they made it for visitors to enjoy reading, writing or study .Ab aesi jaga Beth key bhi koi na parhey likhey to kia fayeda Zindagi ka 💃(life is useless if one don’t read or write even on that kind of place). Then I picked up my kids, came back home to complete the regular chores and prepared to go to my institute at evening.I felt super thankful for Allah mian, My City and Community for giving me the opportunity to spend these precious and peaceful ME Time moments. I am writing this right now from the same spot.
*Reading, Writing, Painting, Swimming, Travel and Listening to good Podcasts during the drive time are a few of my favourite ME time things. What are yours? Please share your ideas, Be grateful for the time in hand and try to create your own happiness by enjoying the little things in Life even if it’s just a cup of tea, Lots of Love،⁦♥️⁩
