Yahya: Amma mujhy Quran parhna hai(Amma I want to read the Quran)
I was hasitating as he wasn’t properly covered and he might not handle it properly and what if he’ll drop it? but meanwhile when I was thinking all that he picked it, brought it to me, sit at the front, open and start reciting his only memorized Surah Fatiha and then I didn’t stop him.
Many times our respect for Quran takes over its love for us and it ended up covering it with a fancy cloth and placing it very high at the top where no one can reach it and then unfortunately it stays there untouched for months. Kids usually attached to the stuff they can touch and feel. Respect always comes first but it could be taught eventually and ofcourse being innocent souls adults rulings aren’t applied on them, Making it unreachable results in losing their interest in the Quran and other Islamic books. When children see the stuff they always want to do it so the first step to get your kids to attach to their Holy Book is to read it in front of them, Second is when they try to copy you, let them do it while slowly teaching them the handling and respect.
What do you think about it? What tips do you use to connect your kids to Quran and other Islamic books? Please share your insights!
