I ate Kunafa the first time long ago in Abu Dhabi and instantly fell in love with this unique and moderate hot Arabic dessert.
I call it moderate because you actually pour the quantity of sweet you want to have at the time of serving.
When I came back to Canada, I searched it and tried in a few places but it wasn’t the same. Then I used google, found many versions and came up with this one that actually matches to the one I ate in UAE
It serves hot with the sugar syrup so you have to serve it directly from oven to your Table else it will lose the magic.
For Sugar Syrup, I usually take half cup water & 3 Tbsp sugar plus some food colour (Saffron, Cardamom and few drops of Rosewater are optional but definitely enhanced the taste).
The second ingredient is Cream, You can take any of your choices. I Unusually use Milk pack or Carnation.
It is also made with cheese, Totally up to you.
The third main ingredient is Pheni(fried vermicelli), I used Ahmed brand, easily available in stores.
